What is Composite Bonding?

Composite bonding offers a modern technique where composite resin (white filling material) can be added to your teeth to improve aesthetics, and function.

Bonding uses a white resin material that is stuck to your teeth with a very strong glue known as a bonding agent. It is often used as a cosmetic treatment in conjunction with tooth straightening and whitening to give that final aesthetic finish as it can be shaped and polished to look like natural tooth structure.

What happens during a composite bonding appointment?

As every case is different, you will have an initial consultation appointment where we will spend some time to fully understand your cosmetic wishes and make sure you are suitable for treatment.

We will then carry out a full assessment of your oral health to make sure you are dentally fit before providing you with a bespoke treatment plan detailing all appointments and costs from the outset.

Once treatment has been planned and your bonding appointment scheduled, it is often completed in a single appointment meaning you will walk out with the smile you want on the same day!

What are the benefits of composite bonding?

One of the main advantages of composite bonding is that it is minimally invasive and, in most cases, it can be placed with little to no damage to your underlying tooth structure and therefore does not require any drilling or injections.

Another big advantage of composite resin is that it is repairable so if it chips or breaks, more composite can be added to it and polished out to make it look like new again.

Composite bonding can often be carried out in a single appointment meaning you can get the smile you want in a time effective and pain-free manner.
